Senior QA Engineer

MCS Group are seeking a Senior QA Engineer to join a global leader in the FinTech industry as a part of their Belfast expansion. You will be a quality advocate and will drive automation-first practices, with a strong focus on API testing. Working closely with developers and product owners, you will ensure high-quality, reliable software is delivered each sprint. This is a hands-on role with significant autonomy, where you will shape testing strategy, mentor others, and contribute to building robust automation frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain automated functional and non-functional tests.
• Lead API, UI, and performance testing within CI/CD pipelines.
• Drive a shift-left approach to quality across the Agile team.
• Collaborate with global teams on test strategy, planning, and execution.
• Coach and mentor team members in automation and best practices.
• Identify risks, raise impediments early, and ensure quality remains central to delivery.

The Ideal Person

• Strong experience in QA automation, with proven senior-level experience.
• Strong skills in automation tools (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, TestComplete).
• Programming/scripting with Java, JavaScript, or similar.
• CI/CD tools (GitLab, Jenkins, TeamCity).
• BDD frameworks (Cucumber) and performance tools (JMeter).
• Non-functional testing (Performance, Load, Stress, Security).
• Strong collaboration and communication in Agile/SAFe environments.

Desirable

• Experience in financial services/trading systems.
• Knowledge of equities, FIX protocol, AWS, and microservices.
• ISTQB or Agile testing certifications.

Salary - £50,000-55,000
