Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

MCS Group is delighted to announce a new opportunity for a skilled Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join a growing international organisation as they seek to expand their cloud infrastructure team. This is pure SRE work so suits professionals with strong Azure cloud experience who are strong on systems reliability, monitoring, alerting and automation!

The Role:

• Designing, implementing, and maintaining highly available, fault tolerant systems in Azure
• Monitoring system health and performance, proactively addressing issues before they impact customers
• Automating provisioning, deployment, and scaling using Infrastructure as Code (ARM templates, Bicep, Terraform)
• Implementing smart alerting and incident response processes to ensure quick, effective resolution
• Leading root-cause analysis and continuous improvement following incidents
• Collaborating with DevOps teams to optimise CI/CD pipelines for reliability and efficiency
• Supporting capacity planning, auto-scaling, and performance optimisation of SaaS applications
• Ensuring systems meet security and compliance requirements (ISO27001, SOC 2, GDPR)
• Driving continuous service improvement to achieve operational excellence

The Person:

• Proven experience as a Site Reliability Engineer (or similar role) within a SaaS or cloud-based environment
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (compute, networking, storage, monitoring)
• Scripting and automation skills (PowerShell, or similar)
• Solid understanding of containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Azure Monitor, Grafana, Prometheus, or Datadog
• Experience with incident and problem management tools (PagerDuty, ServiceNow)
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Bicep, Terraform, ARM templates)
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with a collaborative mindset
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
• Full right to work in Ireland (Stamp 4/EU Citizenship). No sponsorship is available for this position.
