Job Description

This opportunity offers the chance to play a key role in financial planning, reporting, and stakeholder support, contributing to effective resource management, funding stability, and long-term organisational success.
The Role:
- Financial Management: Maintain accurate financial records, oversee month-end processes, and ensure compliance with internal controls and financial procedures.
- Reporting: Prepare monthly management accounts, financial forecasts, and detailed analysis to support senior leadership decision-making.
- Grants & Fund Management: Track funding allocations, produce reports for funders, and assist with grant applications and audit requirements.
- Budgeting: Support the annual budgeting process and provide financial guidance to managers across departments.
- Payroll: Administer payroll processes, statutory submissions, and maintain accurate employee salary and leave records.
- Audit & Compliance: Assist with internal and external audits, maintain asset registers, and ensure all financial documentation is audit compliant.
- Leadership & Support: Provide support to the Head of Finance when required, assist junior team members, and respond to finance-related queries and ad hoc duties.
The Person
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience:
Essential:
- Qualified AAT, IATI, or part-qualified ACCA, CIMA, or ACA with experience in a similar finance role, alternatively substantial experience within a comparable financial environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a logical and methodical approach to financial tasks.
- Proven experience processing payroll, including HMRC and pension submissions.
- Ability to effectively manage competing weekly and monthly deadlines while delivering accurate work to schedule.
Desirable:
- Experience working within organisations with multiple funding streams.
- Previous experience within the charity or non-profit sector.
